Reflection on ICT as an informtive tool

ICT as a tool for information has a profound effect on my studies as well as day-to-day personal life. It provides quick and easy access to a vast reservoir of information that helps me learn, keep myself updated and understand the world around me in a better way. Whether it is searching for my assignments or simply looking for issues out of curiosity, ICT enables my ability to find, look for options and use information effectively. In my learning, I use ICT as a source of information in reading articles, accessing e-books, and watching educational videos. Text-based information is also helpful in fostering my linguistic intelligence. Through digital books, online blogs, and educational websites, I can read, learn new vocabulary, and improve my reading comprehension. Tools such as Google Scholar and online libraries allow me to search for credible material in real time. This makes learning more convenient, comfortable and allows me to learn at my own pace, especially when I am working on my assignments. ICT also helps me with visual information in the form of pictures and graphics. As someone who likes to do not enjoy complex ideas but when I see them in visual formats, it allow me to understand topics at more effective level. For example, seeing a labeled diagram of the human digestive system makes it much easier for me to understand the whole process than just reading the text about the parts and their functions. As a trainee teacher, I use ICT tools like online textbooks on rec.textbooks (https://rec.gov.bt/textbooks-and-manuals/) science websites and interactive websites like PhET simulations have a tendency to present information in this visual format, which makes my learning process more effective and quick for me. Other than text and images, ICT provides audio and video content that I utilize on a daily basis to gain information. Through listening to podcasts or recorded lectures, I can improve my listening skills and understand complex topics in a simplified way. Videos with audio and images like on YouTube or educational apps(BYJU'S) allow me to learn and recall things better than reading simply from textbooks. This is especially useful for concepts that are hard to grasp through text, for example, brain processes in psychology module. Animation is another significant aspect of ICT as an informational tool. I often watch animated videos that break down complex concepts into simple, understandable form. Animation not only keeps me engaged but also allows me to remember things for longer duration by making learning fun and interactive. I also use ICT in my daily life to keep myself informed about current events, general knowledge, and prevailing trends. I read news articles, educational social media pages, and documentaries. Such informative content keeps me in touch with the world and updates my knowledge about different issues beyond the academic syllabus. Overall, ICT as an informational tool immensely supports my learning ability and progress better academically and individually. It assists varied learning approaches through delivering information in numerous formats like text, pictures, sound, video, and animation which allows me to gain information more deeply and meaningfully.
